Cryotherapy has become one of the latest trends with athletes. Used by elite athletes around the world for over two decades, it is a more comfortable, quicker, and effective alternative to traditional ice baths. There has been much research behind the subject explaining the science behind cryotherapy. What it comes down to is that cryotherapy helps relieve pain from muscle aches and stiff joints. It can even improve sleep quality. It also works to provide a renewed sense of energy.
Whole body cryotherapy flushes toxins and enriches red blood cells with oxygen, nutrients, and enzymes. WBC works to soothe, comfort, and provide relief in the effort to speed recovery for those who have stressed their muscles, and anyone looking to rejuvenate from the stress of daily life.
At 78 Cryo, we use the safest and most reputable, state-of-the-art cryo technology today. Our machine is made in America and engineered and designed in California.
How Does it Work?
Since cryotherapy is for the whole body, the user steps inside a vertical chamber. When the operator starts the session, cold nitrogen gas enters the chamber and envelops the users body. The temperature will quickly drop down to -220 degrees. A typical session will last for three minutes. Afterwards you step out of the cold chamber feeling refreshed, happier and energized.
What happens to your body?
The super cold temperatures trigger your autonomic system to go into protection mode. The body prevents hypothermia by redirecting your blood flow out of your extremity muscles and to the core body organs.
The vital organs receive the blood flow faster and quickly work clean out the lactic acid that was in your muscles.
Your body pumps hormones and enzymes into the blood stream in order to promote recovery.
The oxygen level in your blood increases.
Muscle Inflammation is quickly reduced.
Endorphins are released which lowers pain and stress and boosts happiness.
After the 3 minutes, whats next?
When the user steps out of the chamber and out of the cold, the blood picks up these oxygen rich nutrients. The body then distributes the nutrients from the core to the rest of the body.
Blood flows back into your arms and legs at high speed
Your enriched blood detoxifies your body better and faster.
Collagen production increases: the elasticity of your skin increases.
Your metabolism gets a boost.
The cold also helps decrease inflammation and pain in joints and muscles. Since the body releases endorphins into the blood stream, this creates an increase in energy.
Cryotherapy for athletes has been proven to be effective in improving performance on the field.
