What to wear to your Cryotherapy Session?
The idea is to expose as much of the skin as possible to the cold. Men usually wear sports shorts, underwear or swim suits. Ladies usually wear bikini or sports shorts and a top. Warm comfortable socks are required. Additionally, you are required to wear thermal gloves and thick boots to protect your hands and feet which we provide. We also provide a full length robe to allow you to stay covered up until you enter the chamber.
Important Items
NO WET BODY PARTS. No sweat or perspiration on your skin. No wet hair. Your body must be completely dry. The cold temperatures will quickly freeze any moisture. Do not put deodorant nor moisturizing lotion on your skin right before you come.
NO METAL ITEMS. Do not wear any bikini or Bra tops which have metal wires or metal clasps. Earrings are ok since your head will not be exposed. However, NO body piercings , NO metal necklaces, NO metal bracelets and NO watches. You can leave your wedding ring on because it will be covered by the thermal gloves.
NO OPEN WOUNDS. No cuts or scratches that are bleeding,
Medical Limitations
Cryotherapy is very safe. However, there are some medical conditions in which we do not allow.
- Pregnancy
- High Blood pressure over 160/100 according to American Heart Association
- acute or recent myocardial infarction
- unstable angina pectoris
- arrhythmia
- symptomatic cardiovascular disease
- cardiac pacemaker
- peripheral arterial occlusive disease
- venous thrombosis
- acute or recent cerebrovascular accident
- uncontrolled seizures
- Raynaud's Syndrome
- elevated temperature or fever
- tumor disease
- Symptomatic lung disorders
- bleeding disorders
- severe anemia
- infection
- claustrophobia
- cold allergy
- acute kidney and urinary tract diseases.
Medical Waiver
We require all guests to sign a medical waiver in advance of any treatment to ensure everyone knows the risk. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must sign additionally on the form. We will provide cryotherapy services to anyone over the age of 14 with parental consent. For the ages of 12 to 14 years old, the trainer will asses the physical condition of the individual to determine fitness.
