First Visit to Cryotherapy

Typical clothing

What to wear to your Cryotherapy Session?

The idea is to expose as much of the skin as possible to the cold. Men usually wear sports shorts, underwear or swim suits. Ladies usually wear bikini or sports shorts and a top. Warm comfortable socks are required. Additionally, you are required to wear thermal gloves and thick boots to protect your hands and feet which we provide. We also provide a full length robe to allow you to stay covered up until you enter the chamber.

Important Items

NO WET BODY PARTS. No sweat or perspiration on your skin. No wet hair. Your body must be completely dry. The cold temperatures will quickly freeze any moisture. Do not put deodorant nor moisturizing lotion on your skin right before you come.

NO METAL ITEMS. Do not wear any bikini or Bra tops which have metal wires or metal clasps. Earrings are ok since your head will not be exposed. However, NO body piercings , NO metal necklaces, NO metal bracelets and NO watches. You can leave your wedding ring on because it will be covered by the thermal gloves.

NO OPEN WOUNDS. No cuts or scratches that are bleeding,

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES- We provide Protective gloves. These will keep your fingers and hands from being too cold and protect from injury. This is because the hands and feet are much smaller, with less fat as insulation so you should always cover your hands.

WEAR PROTECTIVE BOOTS- We will provide protective boots. Please make sure to bring and wear socks, and be certain they are DRY socks. This prevents excess moisture from reaching any freezing possibility. The feet need the same protection as your hands.

Wear a bathing suit bottom- this protects the sensitive areas of our body, especially for men.

Don’t lower your head below the activated cryotherapy chamber- it could be dangerous to put one’s head inside and breathe in a large and prolonged amount of nitrogen. The nitrogen gas does not affect you with your head outside the top of the chamber as the nitrogen disperses easily around the neck area and will not harm you in any way.

Are there age restrictions?

If you are under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the liability waiver on your behalf. For all ages, the waiver must be signed in advance of treatment. For the ages of 12 to 14 years old, the trainer will assess the physical condition of the individual to determine fitness.

A typical Cyrotherapy session will last for 3 minutes and the chamber will cool your body down to -230 degrees. We will have a technician with you during the entire process.

First the technician will measure your height and setup the chamber to match your dimensions.

Are your boots on? The technician will check. (Take pictures now. This is the best time for a quick picture.) When the chamber has been cooled the appropriate temperature, the Technician will assist you into the chamber and close the door. The chamber door never locks and can be opened with very little force.

Now we will ask you to remove your robe. Then we will attach a heart rate monitor to your earlobe to monitor your vitals. It ensures heart rate is in a safe range as well as monitors the blood oxygen level. At this time you will be given gloves to put on your hands.

Ready to go! The technician will press the start button and coach you through your 3 minute session.

78 Cryo utilizes biometrics, thermal imaging, and safety monitoring sensors to ensure the optimum safety features are available for a secure and enjoyable cryotherapy experience.

The Cyrotherapy chamber which we use is the safest on the market. It is designed and manufactured right up the road in Newport Beach CA. Only trained technicians which are specially trained, approved and verified with fingerprint login can operate the machine. There are proximity sensors that monitor your body vitals and physical position. The machine will automatically shut off if your head falls below the safety area. Or your heart rate becomes excessive.
